You are cordially invited to attend the Fairytale Ball...
Lund Art & Vintage warmly invites you to attend a fairytale ball in the main ballroom at the Grand Hotel on October 19th, 2024. Guests are invited to an evening of magic, enchantment, and inspiration. A three course dinner, prepared specifically by the Grand Hotel chef for this event, will be served. Linda Ågren, aka Mermaid Athiraa, will give a talk about her magical journey of becoming Sweden's first professional mermaid and Kristy Lund, owner of Lund Art & Vintage & creator of the Fairytale ball, will share some of the "behind the scenes" stories of her serendipitous journey from academic to life coach/artist/vintage boutique owner. Music will follow and guests are invited to dance if they wish, or play games or crafts in adjoining rooms. There is no age limit for this event, but participants should be old enough to sit through a three-course meal.

The Story Behind the Fairytale Ball...
Lund Art & Vintage works with customers of all ages and backgrounds. When customers visit our store, many often remark on the beautiful ball gowns they see in our storefront windows. We started hearing many customers say “Wow, I wish I had a reason to wear a dress like that!” or “I never got to attend prom, but I would’ve worn that if I did.” Kristy started thinking, “why don’t we host a ball for all, where everyone can wear something that makes them feel beautiful and happy.” And thus the fairytale ball was born…We’re so excited to bring this vision to life!
Here is your chance to wear that tuxedo, ballgown, vintage outfit, wedding dress, suit, fairy dress, etc.! This is a semi-formal/formal event with a magical twist! That means that you are welcome in clothes that make you feel wonderful. (There are no gender rules for dress code at the Fairytale Ball, come as you feel best!) Cosplay is welcome, as long as it fits a family-friendly fairytale theme. You are of course invited to try on dresses at Lund Art & Vintage. We would love to help you find the perfect outfit for the ball! Our boutique is located at Västra Mårtensgatan 10C, 223 51 Lund.

Question and Answer
Q. Do I need to wear a ballgown?
A. No! Everyone is encouraged to wear clothes that make them feel good. There are also no gender-specific rules, so please wear what feels good to you.

Q. I've been wanting to wear my Hobbit/Fairy/Elf/Witch outfit, does this work?
A. Yes, all costumes and cosplay that work with a fairy tale or folklore theme are most welcome!

Q. Can I wear tennis shoes with my ballgown?
A. Of course you can!

Q. Is there assigned seating at this event?
A. No, it is open seating, i.e., you can sit where you want and with whom you want! :)

Q. I am coming alone, will this be a problem for the dancing?
A. Not a problem at all! Most people are coming on their own or with a friend. Some are coming with a partner, but not most. Everyone who wants to dance can do so with the group!
Q. Will we be dancing the waltz?
A. No, we are taking a more modern and international approach to this ball, as not everyone has a partner nor knows how to waltz. We will have a mix of happy dance-friendly songs from different eras to keep our dancing feet happy.

Q. I don't like to dance, is there anything else to do?
A. Yes! We have a side room where people can mingle if they don't want to be in the big ballroom after the music starts.

Q. Can I stay the night at the Grand Hotel?
A. Yes! Use PROMO1 to get a 15% discount on a room for the evening. There will be a few of us staying overnight.

Q. Can I purchase drinks at the ball?
A. There will be a bar, with drinks available for purchase.

Q. We want to dance the night away! Why do we need to end at 11:00?
A. We want to be respectful that some people's outfits or transportation may turn into pumpkins at midnight. (Also, Grand Hotel has other guests who may not appreciate us stomping to YMCA after 11pm.) Grand's main bar is open until midnight if you want to continue a little while longer.
